I've never really seen the point.. Unless I've missed something people challenge other people to NOT donate money, but do some stupid stunt instead.. I mean, would it not be better if people just donated?

Well, I guess things've gone wrong at some point then, because the challenges I've seen is "do the ice bucket OR you'll have to pay". I'm sure this started out as something great, but at some point it turned into a viral social media skit :(

It's actually raised a lot of money. All the ones I've seen had been do the ice bucket or you'll have to pay too. I think people are probably doing it and then giving like 10 or 20 bucks. If enough people give even a small amount it adds up quickly.

That may be so, but the whole thing about "do this or that OR you must pay" is just SHIT in my opinion. It should be "hey guy, how 'bout we raise some awareness about ALS now, you do this and then doneate some money.

Yeah I did it and donated $20.

Tip: the ice cubes hurt if like me you choose to have someone pour the bucket onto you from a deck.

Idk but I'd say do it and nominate some of your favorite peeps. I'd really like to see Daft Punk even if they don't get wet and maybe your favorite driver/CEO of Ferrari, etc.
